Not many exchange M&A's in Asia seen by incoming SGX CEO Bocker
Thursday saw the incoming chief executive of the Singapore Exchange, Magnus Bocker, remarking that he does not see many merger and acquisition (M&A) activities between stock exchanges in Asia.
He told a news conference that with the kind of developments they have witnessed in Europe and the U. S.; he does not think they will see the same being mimicked in Asia.
From 1st December, Bocker, 47, previously president of Nasdaq OMX, will take over as CEO of SGX. As a result, he will be replacing Hsieh Fu Hua who announced his intention to step down from Asia's second-largest listed bourse at the start of the year.
SGX confirmed Bocker's appointment last week.
