As per the media reports, a verdict of suicide, in the case of the death of David Widjaja, has been recorded by Singapore's state coroner.

David, who was an Indonesian national, was a student of the Nanyang Technological University's (NTU) department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and was discovered dead on the NTU grounds on March 2, after stabbing his professor with a knife.

David was being supervised by the University's Professor Chan Kap Luk in his final year project.

It was concluded by the state coroner that David had voluntarily stabbed Prof Chan with a knife, in the professor's office at nearly about 10.25am that day.

The state coroner visualized that, after this, a struggle resulted; during which David could have sustained some injuries.

The State Coroner, which also concluded that there was no foul play involved in the incident, added that David had walked towards the parapet wall near a link bridge after the incident; he sat at the edge and then fell on his own.
