Asus All Set to Join the E-Readers Bandwagon

AsusAs has been confirmed by the company, Asus is all set to release a range of three electronic readers before the next year rolls in, including an OLED color-screen model, a development which has made the technology firm to be the newest one to jump onto the e-reader bandwagon.

The OLED model will be released as the DR-570, and will be equipped with a 5.7 inch screen offering "high-brightness" color display. It will also support Flash videos and internet connectivity.

In addition, Asus will offer a monochrome-screen, entry level DR-570 model, with a 5.7-inch screen, and the trio will be completed with a 9-inch e-reader, christened the DR-950, which will be equipped with a 768 x 1024 resolution E Ink touchscreen display. The DR-950 will offer a display with as many as 16 shades of gray.

The trio of the company's e-readers is expected to come bundled with text-to-speech functionality, a 3.5mm headphone jack and handwriting recognition, among other attractive features.

Exact dates of release and pricing for the readers are yet to be announced by Asus.
