Major Order for 20 40MW Turbines Won by Vestas

On Monday, Denmark based major firm Vestas, which is the world's largest and top ranked maker of wind turbines, confirmed that it has managed to bag a major order of 20 turbines from China Datang Renewable Power Co Ltd. The total capacity of the turbines will be
40 megawatts.

The turbines, V90-2.0 MW in specifications, will be installed across Zhaolitouzi, Liaoning Province.

The total value of the order has not been disclosed by any of the parties involved yet.

While citing official figures from consultants Azure International, Vestas shared that China had total installed wind power capacity of nearly 15.5 gigawatts, as of figures that were collected in June 2009. Also, it has been shared that China has emerged as 2009's fastest growing wind energy market across the world.
