Health-care system will get strained by Canada’s aging population

Health-care system will get strained by Canada’s aging populationA longer lifespan is being lived by a majority of Canadians and this also means they are living with more diseases.

Problems like kidney problems, diabetes and high blood pressure are being experienced by many and this has become a cause of concern for experts.

One chronic condition is being lived with by an estimated 16 million Canadians. This has made them take many drugs from various experts. Proper care is something that not everyone is able to take until a medical crisis is hit and several others have to fly on and of for their emergency-department visits.

Apart from these people getting ineffective and an insufficient care, it costs them a lot as about 50 per cent of the health costs are being consumed by about one per cent of the population and this is due to both hospitalization and home care.

It has now been put up in a report that a team of clinicians should be there to help and suggest patients who have chronic health problems and this should be coordinated throughout their lives. And some measures to act on this have been taken by certain institutions.
