Apple mobile devices were briefly unavailable for sale in Germany on Friday after injunction With the Apple-Motorola patent scuffle in Germany resulting in a Manheim court verdict which granted a permanent injunction against Apple's iCloud push email notifications, some of the mobile devices from Apple were briefly unavailable for sale in the country on Friday.

Since the injunction - granted by Judge Andreas Voss of the Mannheim Regional Court - also covers devices which boast accessibility to iCloud and its predecessor MobileMe, the German court's ruling came as a setback for Apple, which is fighting a bitter patent battle with Motorola Mobility in the country.

According to reports, with the injunction affecting the sales of Apple's devices in Germany, the company has also, in a separate development, removed a number of its products - including the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4 - from its online store in the country --- a move which, as per patent blogger Florian Mueller, was essentially connected with an earlier injunction granted to Motorola in December.

Apple said in a statement that, with another court temporarily barring Motorola from enforcing the injunction, it will resume the sales of its devices on its online store; with the Karlsruhe appeals court having stated that it is reviewing Apple's request to block the execution of the order during the appeal of the December ruling.

Meanwhile, noting that the Mannheim court recognized the significance of Motorola's intellectual property by granting "an enforceable injunction" in Germany against Apple, Motorola said in a statement: "Although the enforcement of the injunction has been temporarily suspended, Motorola Mobility will continue to pursue its claims against Apple."
