In an earlier this week announcement, Verizon had said that it will make the much-hyped Motorola Droid Razr Maxx available for purchase, both online as well as in Verizon stores, on January 26.
About the pricing of the Droid Razr Maxx, Verizon had previously disclosed that the smartphone - which will use the carrier's LTE network - will be available for $299.99 with a two-year contract. While purchasing the handset, buyers will have to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and at least a 2GB data package, beginning respectively at $40 and $30 per month.
The Maxx is essentially an upgraded Droid Razr - a fact which was evident from the results of PCMag tests which have revealed that the new handset boasts a notably dramatically improved talk time --- while the Droid Razr lasted
8 hours, 42 minutes in the tests, the Maxx lasted 21 hours straight on one single charge!
Some of the most attractive features of the Maxx - which was one of the highlights of this month's Consumer Electronics Show - include a 4.3-inch Super Amoled Advanced touchscreen with 540-by-960-pixel resolution; a dual-core
1.2 GHz processor; 1GB of RAM; 16GB of internal storage; a 16GB microSD card; an 8-megapixel rear camera; and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
Though the Maxx will originally ship with the Android version 2.3.5, the handset will receive an upgrade to the Android version 4.0 `Ice cream Sandwich' during the second quarter of the year!
