GameSpot: Capcom teasing ‘Resident Evil 6’ with a viral marketing campaign

GameSpot: Capcom teasing ‘Resident Evil 6’ with a viral marketing campaign According to GameSpot, Capcom has somewhat confirmed that a console game from its flagship Resident Evil franchise may apparently be on the cards later this year; with a viral marketing campaign by the publisher teasing the next episode in the series.

The hints that `Resident Evil 6' will come up this year - almost 3 years after the launch of its predecessor `Resident Evil 5' - are abound in Capcom's new marketing promotion which has come up on the NoHopeLeft. com blog, which reportedly features a horde of pictures as well as videos from ostensibly bombed-out places the world over.

Noting that `Resident Evil' is dubbed `BioHazard' in Japan, GameSpot said that the images on the Nohopeleft. com blog chiefly show abandoned, post-apocalyptic locales which have been tagged with graffiti saying "No hope left." In addition, the locales also bear logos which appear quite like a reversed biohazard symbol.

Despite the fact that the site does not have any Capcom logos or any other indication that can prove its association with the `Resident Evil' game's publisher, GameSpot has revealed that the domain is linked to Capcom. Substantiating GameSpot's observation, TheSixthAxis has also stated that it was able to connect link a "No Hope Left" graffiti tag in London to Capcom.

Even though a Capcom spokesperson has recently told PCMag that no official announcements about `Resident Evil 6' have been made by the publisher, GameSpot has drawn attention to the campaign and also the fact that the mentioned title has been anticipated for nearly the last two years.
