Singapore Finds Abercrombie & Fitch's Banner OffensiveThe advertisement banner of Abercrombie & Fitch's at the Orchard shop-front in Singapore have been announced as licentious as per guidelines of advertisement laws.

The brand Abercrombie & Fitch's is an America-based trendsetting clothing company. An outlet of the brand is going to open shortly in the Knightsbridge store. According to Marketing Magazine, the apparel firm had violated the laws of the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore (ASAS).

The banner includes picture of a man exposing his well-built body, wearing a jean. The Company has always been in limelight for promotional banners, which comprise of models exposing their body. Lawyer Samuel Seow stated to Straits Times Indonesia that a legal action should be taken on the matter by Media Development Authority (MDA) Straits Times Indonesia.

As per JCDecaux Singapore CEO Ashley Stewart, "What really surprised me was the speed of ASAS' response -- the ad's suspension was many weeks after it was posted, so it had already achieved the desired effect”.

In reply, A&F authorities stated that Singapore needs to come out of the conventional thoughts and accept the banner in this very way because it is the voice of the youth.
