Previous Solitary Seafood Dealer Imprisoned for Bribing Chefs

As per reports, the mastermind behind the S$1 million hotel bribery case has finally got an 18 month imprisonment.

The whole issue came to limelight after several previous reports exposed the scandal details, which stated that the mastermind, who was a former seafood dealer, gave the huge amount to the most of the famous hotels and restaurants chefs.

However, the culprit was not alone held guilty because almost 19 chefs were also charged with various allegations linked with the same case. An extra 203 alike accuses were taken into deliberation throughout the legal sentencing procedures.

Giving more details about the issue, the reports asserted that the defaulter was the sole seafood dealer and with the aim of earring higher profits, he gave the chefs between S$200 and S$24,000 in inducement so that they would carry on to purchase his products.

Meanwhile, following a series of investigation, the scandal details were exposed by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.

Commenting on the issue, Vala Muthupalaniappan, Deputy Public Prosecutor requested that for every allegation, the culprit should be given a punishment of at least 3 to 8 months because she strongly believed that the case charges were extensive and the offences were committed over an extended period of time.
