SingTel and the enterprise application software manufacturer SAP are reported to have launched a cloud-based business management solution for small as well as medium enterprises to assist them in improving productivity and reducing costs.
Also, the cloud-based solution, enables SMEs to streamline and handle various aspects of their business on the go, and will be given based on a monthly subscription.
SAP President for South-east Asia, Tim Moylan, stated: "SMEs need to be empowered with innovations like mobility, on-demand services and cloud solutions, so that they can keep costs low, steadily grow their business and stay ahead of competition".
Hence, it’s possible to cut operating costs by 60% with the solution, as users do not need to make upfront investments in equipment as well as avoid the expenses of ‘managing and maintaining complex systems and hardware’.
The average cost for five users, along with installation and subscription is reported to be up to S$13,000 per year, when compared to S$33,000 a year for the ‘traditional on-premise deployment’ of the same services.
Moylan further stated: “The new service is different from SAP's products targeted at large enterprises, its purpose built for SMBs which typically do not have the complexities that large enterprises have and allows SMBs to focus their finite resources on their core business”.
