SingTel’s Net Profit Dips 2.9%According to reports on Thursday, Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) officials accounted that in the present monetary year, they have maintained its projection for single digit proportion growth for the Company’s profits figures.

The announcement was made public after the Company officials claimed that due to the weaker contributions from Indian associate Bharti Airtel in its first quarter net profit, which recorded a surprise drop of 2.9%.

However, talking about the growth plans, in a press briefing, Chua Sock Koong, Group CEO, further asserted that they reconfirm our guidance for FY2012.

Moreover, in a previous statement quoted in the management discussion paper, which was made public at the press briefing, SingTel reveled that they assumed in Singapore company’s operating revenue would grow at a low single digit level.

Meanwhile, they further added that for Australia and EBITDA operating revenues, they expected an increase by low single digits.

"In Africa, Bharti is steadily growing its customer and usage levels, with corresponding improvements in revenue and EBITDA”, while sharing his views, stated, Hui Weng Cheong, SingTel's CEO for international operations. “It has been a year since Bharti began its operations in Africa. Its transformation and restructuring plans are progressing well and Africa is positioned to deliver further growth for Bharti”.
