On Wednesday, Australian developers have announced its upcoming project of constructing Singapore's third-largest suburban shopping mall. It has been reported that the mall will be build next to Jurong East MRT Station.
It is expected that the construction of the building will be over by 2013. The proposed building will have six-storey shopping mall. The mall will be build upon 818,000 sq ft of space. Moreover, 50% of the space has already been leased out. The mall will have a largest cinema multiplex run by Cathay Cineplex. It has been told that the multiplex will run daily midnight movies.
It has further come to light that the project will have 345,000 sq ft of gross floor area for offices, which has been leased to the Ministry of National Development, the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority and the Building and Construction Authority.
Commenting upon the proposed building, Mr. Ku Swee Yong, CEO of International Property Advisor, said that the project is "very comprehensively thought-out plan to bring business and finance into the Jurong district. Jem itself would have enough components within it and on its own”.
The building will be made around the Orchard Road area. The developers are hoping that the mall will have the potential of fulfilling the varied choices of people.
