Boeing eyes Asia, MidEast to boost revenueBoeing, US aerospace giant is looking forward towards Asia for growth in its defence revenue within next five years. The US is expecting that by 2015, it will account for 12.5% of its total revenue from Asia, much higher than last year’s revenue of 8.5%. This represents 50% of its revenue generated outside the US.

Currently, Boeing offers F/A-18 Super Hornets to Japan and F-15s to South Korea and searching for other countries for these contracts. Boeing is looking forward for the acceptance of deal worth US$4 billion by December to finalise C-17 order.

US is expecting that there will be no further increase in defence budget in US in coming years so it is expecting to approachAsia to generate good revenues, while Europe will likely cut its defence spending.

Growth in defence sector in US depends upon long standing partnerships and economic and budget realities, said by Dennis Muilenberg, Chief Executive of Boeing Defence, Space and Security.

Boeing’s Chinooks and Apache helicopters are being looked after and modified by Singapore's ST Engineering as one of its is a strong partner.

Expansion in Asian economies is building path for hike in defence budget, according to defence contractor. Moreover, China is planning to expand its maritime and submarine in the South China Sea and this move might influence other countries to buy anti-submarine aircrafts.

Boeing also said that it has been a bad phase as it is facing many cyber attacks but so far it has not lost any of its databases. Not revealing much it said that cyber attacks are part of the business but it strongly believed that its security is very strong.
