Manulife to increase agent base by 100% It has been announced by the Canadian insurer, Manulife that it is going to double the headcount of its number of agents and financial advisers by 2014. This is part of the company's idea to expand itself in the Asian region.

It is a fact that Asia has proved out to be the fastest growing market for Manulife and all alone accounts for 40 per cent of its total sales and 33 per cent in its profit figure. There are also rumors that S$ 11 million will be put into the region in next 6 years.

Said Manulife Singapore president and CEO Annette King that currently there are some 900 agents who are already working and that is going to be made 1800.

Not only that, as per the plans a new office is going to be opened at Bras Basah which would be done by the end of this year. Not only that a growth of 8 per cent will be happening in the total weighted premium for the first quarter ended March 31. This means to take into consideration both regular as well as single premium.
