On Monday the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has said that ELECTRONIC Road Pricing (ERP) rates will be reduced for the June 2011 school holiday period along certain roads and expressways. This is the temporary change in the rates for vacations.
The ERP will be reduced by $1 per Passenger Car Unit (PCU) for certain roads at specified times, while there will be no change in the rates where ERP rate is $0.50 per PCU currently.
The new rates will be applied from Saturday, 28th May, to Saturday 25th June 2011, after that the same ERP rates will executed to pre-school holiday rates.
The ERP rates will be lowered for Bukit Timah Expressway, Bendemeer Road, Dunearn Road and Thomson Road.
On the other hand, the LTA has also said that the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) operating hours for foreign vehicles will end earlier at noon on weekdays. This will come to effect from May 28 to June 26.
VEP fees will be of no cost on Saturdays, Sundays and Singapore Public Holidays.
This is a part of the partial initiatives for attracting foreign visitors to Singapore during the Singapore school holidays in particular.
