According to the Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, his appointment as the minister of the coordination of economic as well as social policy points towards a new phase in the commitment of the Government towards inclusive growth.
However, rather than rushing towards the implementation of the popular policies that play to the gallery, his job will mainly be to hear out the feedback and frame policies likewise keeping in mind what is right for Singapore.
While addressing the reporters during a community event yesterday, Mr. Tharman mentioned that the formulating of policies must currently have much more discussion with the people on the ground, along with social workers as well as teachers.
Their opinions are going to be taken aboard for aiding the Singaporeans in the long run.
He further said that such 'to-ing and fro-ing' would aid in refining ideas.
He added at the event held in the Jurong Point shopping centre that at present the expectations were running high and that they must try and ensure that, in emerging from this entire process, they do not fall into either of two situations.
