Just after agreeing to take up stakes in airlines of Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, it was announced by Tiger Airways Holdings that they are looking out for more overseas partnerships.
In an interview given to Bloomberg TV, CEO of airlines Tony Davis said that they are going for takeovers since they are sure that their franchise is well established in Singapore and now the objective has shifted to form such positive franchise all around Asia.
The carrier which has got stakes holders like Singapore Airlines Ltd is going to buy a stake of 33 percent in Indonesia-based PT Mandala Airlines. For the same, it was able to defeat AirAsia Bhd. But while it takes up newer airlines, it has also reported decline in its Q4 profits because of slowdown in demand and also because there had been tax charges in its Australian unit.
Analysts say that as it expands its base across Asia, Tiger is going to see further decline in its cost base as there will be a drop in its operating expenses. However, uncertainty over demand rise is definitely going to play spoilt sports for a very long time.
