Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has stated that its Chairman Chumpol NaLamlieng will give walk out from the post of Chairman and Director of the company.
Mr Simon Israel will be the Chairman and Director of the company. He will take this position after the SingTel's Annual General Meeting, which will happen on July 29, 2011.
SingTel has said that Mr. NaLamlieng, an inhabitant of Thai was appointed as non-executive and independent Director in 2002. Later in the year 2003 he was appointed as Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Kai Nargolwala, Lead Independent Director has said that Khun Chumpol has vast knowledge and experience and understanding of the business environment in Asia which has benefited whole Group.
He has good judgement power and insights which have guided the SingTel Group. He has provided his best support to reinforce its position as Asia's leading communications group, especially when there was severe economic downturn in the recent past. Mr. Israel has been appointed by SingTel's Board to handle its Chairmanship.
Before being the chairman he will have his retirement as Executive Director, President and Board Member of Temasek Holdings on July 1, 2011.
