Toyota Motor Corp in Japan, the world's biggest automaker said that it will cut down its production of cars by half the original plans till June 3 and had resume its production services at all of its factories from April 18.
Majority of factories in Japan are facing shutdowns because they were damaged by a magnitude-9.0 earthquake in the northeast region of the country on March 11 and thus create supply shortage of various components used by Japanese automakers.
It will take months for Japanese automakers to get into shapes and meet the demand therefore many auto companies like Toyota, Honda Motor Co, Nissan Motor Co and even some rivals overseas such as General Motors Co have either cut down their production or stopped their production.
Renesas Electronics is the company in Japan which sells about 40 percent of all automotive microcontrollers globally and damage to this factory has created the major bottle neck. It has been reported that Renesas would got into operations in July so, the production is expected to interrupt till July.
