Second man in SLA scam jailed three years

A man, who made a conspiracy to cheat the statutory board of about $297,000 in the company of two employees of Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was put behind the bars. He has been jailed for three years on Monday.

After this a person named Anthony Xavier Foo Doon Tong, 43, a partner of Ribbons and Rolls Marketing Services (R&R) was also jailed. He was the second person who was found guilty and was sentenced.

In the opening month of this year former swim coach Ho Yen Teck, 31, was jailed for 10 years. He was found guilty and admiited to 21 of 195 charges. He has made a profit about $200,000 for his role in the conspiracy.

Foo also admitted his guilt; out of 145 charges he admitted 10 and had illegal work with SLA deputy director of technology and infrastructure department Koh Seah Wee, 40, and SLA manager Lim Chai Meng, 37. They mislead SLA into paying between $2,032 and $63,847 under contracts. This amount was given for the work which was not done in 2007 and 2009.
