As part of their ongoing business expansion plans in South Asian nation, Government Of Singapore Investment Corp., or GIC, has opened an office in Mumbai.
The sovereign wealth fund informed in a statement that it’s opening up its 9th Asian office in Mumbai as it has already homed the island nations’ manager for foreign exchange reserve.
GIC is one of the largest investment portfolios worth more than $185 billion dollars and has already invested in several Indian organizations ICICI Bank Ltd., the nation's second biggest lender, and Fortis Healthcare Ltd. GIC has already invested in India in the past decade which has helped them to further strengthen their global position as the biggest foreign financial investor. This new GIC office in Mumbai has sovereign fund of Singapore Temasek its neighbor. Kishore Gotety will be heading GIC’s India office and will have 10 investment and asset management professionals as his team members.
GIC has a global portfolio with offices in New York, San Francisco, Beijing, Shanghai, London, Seoul and Tokyo besides Singapore.
