GM Korea Co. and Ssangyong Motor Co. have participated in the Seoul Motor Show to show their resolve.
GM Korea Co. in January 2011 has began the process of refurbishing including changing its name from GM Daewoo Auto and Technology, and replacing the GM Daewoo brand with that of Chevrolet. At the same time when GM Korea is all set to sharpen its image, Mahindra and Mahindra has successfully acquired Ssangyong and set the SUV specialist on the path to recovery.
The year 2011, has yet to complete its third month, but has already been eventful for GM Korea Co. and Ssangyong Motor Co.
The two car makers are in the bottom two in terms of domestic car market share.
After adopting Chevrolet brand, GM Korea is planning to use the theme of "Chevrolet, past, present and future”. The company will showcase 17 vehicles in the show which includes the iconic classics 1956 Bel Air and 1960 Corvette, as well as GM's electric car Volt.
In addition to the above models, company will also reveal its car Miray, which represents brand’s design vision.
