On Monday, everyone was eagerly awaiting the showcasing of the much touted and controversial CrunchPad, but instead they got a new version of Michael Arrington's aborted device, actually Fusion Garbage's version of the device, christened JooJoo.
During the web conference scheduled, Fusion Garbage CEO, Chandrasekar "Chandra" Rathakrishnan introduced to the world the new internet tablet which is touted to be much better than the CrunchPad, with a boot time of a mere 9 seconds.
"The death of [this device] has been greatly exaggerated. The Internet is the application for the device. It is the first to boot within 9 seconds. Not 2 minutes, not 30 seconds, but a 9 second boot time. JooJoo truly comes close [to achieving] instant on", said Mr. Rathakrishnan.
The $500 gadget is all set to feature a wide 12.1 inch touchscreen, which will display "rich internet content and streaking HD video". There are no buttons on the device, except for a single button to switch the device on or off.
The JooJoo internet tablet will be available for purchase off the shelves starting December 11, 2009.
