Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) has informed that there has been a remarkable net profit growth in the third quarter of the financial year.
Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) is the biggest telecom company of the South-East Asia. The company has managed to post a net profit of $998 million in the quarter under review. It is almost 0.8 per cent up from the similar period in last year.
There has been a surprise rise in its net profit in this third quarter that ended in December 2010 as the registered net profit has exceeded all the expected figures predicted earlier.
The group revenue of the firm has surged up by 5.7 per cent for the quarter and was recorded at $4.7 billion.
Operating revenue jumped 5.7% to S$4.70 billion in the quarter as compared to S$4.45 billion in the same quarter last year on growth from the company's Singapore and Australia operations.
The company officials have informed that the firm has managed to deliver strong performance in the home market Singapore and Optus has performed well in Australia.
