Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) has announced its financial results for the third quarter. Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) is the biggest telecoms group of the South-East Asia.
The company has informed that there has been a surprise rise in its net profit for the third quarter that ended in December 2010 of the ongoing financial year. The registered net profit has exceeded all the expected figures.
As per the company officials, this rise has been the achieved due to the strong performances in its home market and Optus in Australia.
The net income of the group has gone up by 0.8% on year-on-year basis. It was recorded SGD998.2 million (USD784 million) in the quarter of October-December period.
However, Bloomberg has estimated a net income of SGD925 million on an average basis. The expected figure was reported after a poll which was compiled by Bloomberg earlier. The consolidated revenue of the company has also surges by 5.7% in this year against the previous year.
The consolidated revenue of the company was recorded SGD4.7 billion in this year. Australia and the home nation has been the major propeller for the company in terms of net profit and revenue.
