The upcoming Budget will not only continue to highlight growth and transformation in the Singapore economy but also will enable all Singaporeans to have the skills and talent to do better for themselves. This has been stated by the Prime Minister Lee, Hsien Loong on Thursday.
He has said that, if they want to encourage people especially to them who are at the lower end, the best way is to boost their skills and reform their jobs and changes should be done so that workers will able to do their work better.
Mr. Lee has said this to the reporters at the Bukit Merah depot of waste management company SembWaste on the eve of the first day of the Chinese New Year. He was visiting workers customarily.
He thanked the workers who perform essential duties for keeping Singapore going when most people are busy having fun.
Meanwhile on Thursday, he presented hongbao and mandarin oranges as gifts to nearly 200 waste collection truck drivers, group and maintenance workers, and tossed yu sheng. He had spent over an hour to have a discussion with them.
