Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School collaborates with US-based vaccine maker, Inviragen to develop a vaccine against dengue fever. They both have signed a memorandum of understanding to fight against this deadly virus.
Both organizations decided to work closely with each other to understand how this infectious disease gets transmitted and how its transmission can be prevented.
Duke-NUS and Inviragen have put their foot forward to start trials of experimental vaccines against dengue and hand, foot and mouth disease and chikungunya in Singapore.
Sanofi Aventis SA is a Paris based company which has started its third and final stage of trails of its dengue vaccine last year.
Inviragen has been known worldwide for developing vaccines which protect against infectious diseases.
Both the firms have formed a management committee co-chaired by Casey and Dan Stinchcomb, CEO of Inviragen. This management will majorly focus on the organization's collaborative activities.
