India has always been a favorite for tourists. The northeast region known for its scenic beauty from Sikkim to Darjeeling has been a hot spot for tourists from other Asian nations.
Thailand in its endeavor to promote tourism and provide better facilities to businessmen is starting a direct flight from Thailand to Guwahati in Assam by 2011.
Thai air, which is the national carrier for Thailand made this announcement on Tuesday, it was announced by Thailand's Deputy Commerce Minister, Mr Alongkorn Ponlaboot, at a Ficci function.
Noticeably, Thai air already has flights from the nation to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore.
In the next five years the minister has many great plans for the nation's northeast region as he is also proposing a 1360 km highway for promoting trade and investment. The high will be connecting India-Myanmar-Thailand.
The minister also had a few business delegates with him which added in to the suggestions, as they are also planning to invest in the construction business of the nation. In 2011 itself the trade is set to cross USD 6.5 billion and both nations believe that this is just the start
