The9 in a brief announcement has said that it is going to disband the operations of EA Sports FIFA Online 2 in China. The step has been taken in through a mutual agreement with FIFA Online 2's developer, Electronic Arts. It has been said there that "license and commercial operation" of the game are going to end before the second quarter of 2011.
No particular has been cited for what can be called a premature termination. But one must also consider that this is not the first American business that has ended its contract with The9.
Blizzard was the first one which ended its contract in 2009 when it gave away its Chinese operating rights for World of Warcraft to competitor NetEase.
But unlike that case, it is believed, The9 is not going to face so many losses like it did last time. The9 is a game operator that has been developed in China.
Most of this business is directly linked to developing and making online available hi-quality games in the market.
It currently operates with license of MMORPGs and has EA SPORTST FIFA Online 2, Atlantica and Kingdom Heroes 2 Online, under its umbrella.
