iPad shines over Galaxy tab

galaxy-tabAccording to new data from analyst group Piper Jaffray, customers’ perceived value of Apple iPad is much more than that of Samsung's supposed iPad killer, the Galaxy Tab.

Even as both the devices sell for about the same price, the perceived value of an iPad is estimated at $417 compared to just $283 for the Galaxy Tab among customers, according to Piper Jaffray. Only about 15 percent of the users said they would opt for Galaxy Tab when considering buying a new tablet.

Irrespective of what is actually in the product, Apple’s popular tablet represents a kind of multimedia device backed by one of the best app collection in the world while Galaxy Tab is often seen as an imitated device less apps and performance levels.

Samsung’s device supports 3G like most tablets and will soon be available with major telecom operators. The company might have to lower the prices or try to explain the value of the tablet to the consumers in a better way.
