Software giant, Microsoft has sold more than 2.5 million of its Kinect controller since its launch last month. The new controller is capable of tracking a players full body movements along with voices and faces and translated them into actions on the screen.
Microsoft earlier had raised estimates for Kinect sales this year from 3 million to 5 million because of higher than expected pre order volumes. The controller uses an integrated camera and microphone for voice navigation and chatting online with Xbox Live friends.
Kinect competes with gesture-based Nintendo Wii, which has sold more than 30 million units in the U. S and also PlayStation Move motion control system, launched on September 19 by Sony Computer Entertainment America.
Kinect game controller for Xbox 360 console is priced at $150 in the US.
