The Skyfire app for iPhone, which allows users to play Flash video on their handsets, has been launched for customers in the UK.
The app, which has been very popular among iPhone users in the US, allows Flash to be converted and streamed as HTML5 via the Skyfire servers. During its launch in the US, the app saw such high demands that its servers were overloaded. The issue was sorted, and now a new version of Skyfire is available.
The new Skyfire 2.1 is now available for customers in the UK as well as other countries including Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. The new version offers improved video coverage, better cookie support and a simplified bookmark management system.
The app now also includes Twitter Quickview, which allows users to check their social networking stream while browsing. The app now also allows users to share not just through email or Facebook but also Twitter, Tumblr, and a host of other mediums.
"This is just the latest innovation made possible by Skyfire's Rocket Platform? and illustrates why Skyfire, as the first browser ever powered by a cloud service, is a must-have for smartphone users," Jeff Glueck, CEO of Skyfire, said in a statement.
