Majority of Employees in India want mobility and work flexibility, survey

ciscoAccording to a new survey, about 93 percent of the workers and IT professionals in India want mobility and work flexibility while the figure was about 60 percent across the world.

The international workplace study was conducted by Cisco across 13 countries and involved more than surveys of 2,600 workers and IT professionals. A majority of the respondents, about 66 percent said they would choose a job with leniency accessing information outside of the office even if it offers lesser pay.

About 13 percent of the respondents said that their company loyalty depends on the flexibility to work from anywhere while 12 percent said it would dictate their choice of jobs and 9 percent said that it affects their morale.

Marie Hattar, vice president, Cisco said that the survey shows that employees throughout the world feel as strongly about flexibility in work and mobility as they do about salary. Above 50 percent of the respondents who are allowed to access information outside their workplace said that they are able to put in some extra productivity hours every day while 45 percent said they give two to three extra hours a day and about 25 percent said that they spend four hours or more.

The report presents a new trend where most employees want more freedom to do their jobs and many do not see the need to travel to workplace spending long hours in commuting.
