In the first half of the fiscal 2011 nineteen percent growth recorded in direct-tax collection

direct tax collectionsIn comparison of the first half of the previous fiscal the direct tax collections saw a rise of nineteen percent and reached an amount of one lakh eighty one thousand seven hundred and fifty eight crores of rupees in the first half of this financial year

The net amount of tax collected in the period of April- September 2010 figured out to be one lakh eighty one thousand seven hundred and fifty eight crores rupees compared to the sum of one lakh fifty two thousand six hundred and twenty five crores of rupees of the corresponding period of the last fiscal.

There was a nineteen percent growth in H1 instead of the projected annual growth target of thirteen decimal seven percent.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes released a data which showed that direct taxes recorded a growth of twenty six decimal one percent which is its highest growth and reached the amount of eighty one thousand six hundred and forty seven crores of rupees in September ,2010.

The corporate tax collection in the period between April and September saw a rise of twenty one decimal seven percent to reach one decimal two two lakhs crores of rupees. In the corresponding period of the last fiscal it was one lakh crore of rupees.

In the personal income tax collection segment which includes banking cash transactions tax, residual fringe benefit tax and securities transaction tax there was a rise of thirteen decimal eight percent amounting to fifty nine thousand and fifty three crores of rupees from the earlier amount of fifty one thousand and eight hundred and ninety seven crores of rupees.

As per the budget four decimal three zero lakhs crore of rupees worth direct tax will be collected in this fiscal. In the first half of the financial year forty two decimal three percent of the total amount has been collected.
