Internet giant, Google has extended its lead in the web search market after it added new feature to improve its search engine and give results faster while Yahoo-Microsoft partnership lost a bit, in September in the US, according to Internet research firm comScore.
Google had a market share of 66.1 percent at the end of September against 65.4 percent in August, according to comScore. The company made up for the lost share since May, when it had a 66.4 percent share.
The increase in market share shows that the new features introduced by the company frequent delivering results more quickly is allowing more searches. Instant Search feature displays results as soon as the users stat typing in the search box and also modifies results as the user types each letter.
Experts say that the company could generate more revenues from the ads that appear along side the search results. The revenues generated will be known as the company releases its third-quarter earnings on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the market share of Yahoo fell 16.7 percent in September from 17.4 percent in August in its firs decline since May. The decrease comes at the same time as Yahoo's U.
