Following reports confirming notable price increase, Airbus parent EADS informed Wednesday about its plans to repeat financial guidance related to the delayed A400M military transporter programme.
Via an emailed statement, EADS said, "With regard to recent press reports on the A400M programme, EADS explicitly cautions against the misinterpretation of figures taken out of their context as long as negotiations with the customer OCCAR and the launch nations are ongoing."
EADS has informed that the countries that had ordered the transport plane had agreed to take on at least part of additional costs.
Airbus, via this deal, will surely get some relief on costs; however will involve no new taxpayer money for the time being. The deal will also help in easing the threat of penalties.
Though unallocated planes would not be cancelled; however they will remain unfunded until economic conditions improve. Even when such a framework was supported by France, Britain and Spain, the changes were not well accepted by Germany and so the result was uncertain.
The final outcome, as per the analysts, will be a compromise.
