Engine deal signed between BMW and SaabAccording to deal signed in Trollhattan of western Sweeden BMW, the Stockholm-German carmaker will be delivering engines to Saab Automobile, the group based in Sweden.

The deal which has been signed in the main factory of Saab said that the car maker will be supplied with four cylinders and one decimal six litre gasoline engines which are turbocharged by BMW from 2012.

These engines will be fitted to a new series of a Saab model and will be supplied in 2012. The financial details of the deal haven’t been divulged.

The engine, featuring Start-Stop and other actions meant for reducing fuel consumption and emissions will be put together at the Hams Hall engine factory of BMW located in the U. K.

In the month of March, BMW had made an announcement of a deal where it will supply more than two hundred and forty thousand six-cylinder diesel engines to Carbon Motors Corp, worth nearly a billion euro.

The deal was signed in the presence of Jan Ake Jonsson, the Saab chief executive, Victor Muller, the Saab Chairman and Ian Robertson ,board member of BMW who looks after sales and marketing.

Muller is the head of the Dutch group called Spyker Cars which is a specialized and small sports car producer that acquired Saab from the General Motors in the beginning of this tear and saved the famous brand from a forthcoming closure.

From the deal Saab will procure leaner engines which it needs for its prospective models.

Jonsson had been found quoting that Saab has plans to integrate the technology into their next generation vehicles in their own way.

According to Muller with the deal struck they can become a profitable premium independent car maker. He went on to say that both the firms are open to further and future cooperation.
