Nokia denies reports of IDC which stated Nokia sales have fallen

Nokia denies reports of IDC which stated Nokia sales have fallenThe combined market share of National mobile makers like Spice, Micromax and G’Five is in the tune of thirty three decimal two percent as recorded in the second quarter of the current year as compared to zero decimal nine percent of two years earlier. These facts have been provided by the research company IDC.

Nokia, the market leader saw a decline in its market share coming down to thirty six percent from 2009’s fifty four decimal one percent.

India saw a growth of six decimal three percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis in the total shipment of handsets reaching a figure of thirty eight decimal six three million units in a single quarter which is an all time record.

As per report given by IDC, the country witnessed an exceptional trend of using multi sim cell phones and taken over thirty eight decimal five percent of the market.

Nokia denied the report given by IDC saying that those were incorrect. It said that the company does not agree with the figures given by IDC. They firmly believe that IDC had mistaken in choosing the starting point of the Indian market as shipment figures can’t give the actual sales figures and market share of a company.

Nokia said in a statement that the figure of thirty eight decimal five percent market share of dual sim cell phones, given by IDC is not right as it is in the tune of just twenty two percent at present.

According to the report, as of now there are thirty five brands of handsets in the Indian market. In reality there are over eighty to one hundred handset makers dealing in the national market at any given point in time. The Finnish firm added saying that those handsets are mostly China made products and they come into the market sporadically.
