Stephen Hawking’s U-tern on Universe creation stance

stephen-hawkingBritish theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking has taken a U-Tern in his long held stance that god had something to do with the creation of Universe. He has said in his new upcoming book, ‘The Grand Design’ that God did not create the universe and it created itself as the "Big Bang" was an inevitable consequence of the laws of physics.

In the book co-authored with U.S. physicist Leonard Mlodinow rejects the ides that God created the universe. "It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the Universe going," he wrote.

Hawking become famous for his book named "A Brief History of Time," published in 1988 which was about the creation of the universe and included his work on black holes, cosmology and quantum gravity. He has worked since
1974 on combining the General Theory of Relativity and quantum theory, which covers subatomic particles.

"Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist," Hawking wrote in the book.
