Citrix purchases Virtualisation based firm VMLogix

According to a report stated by Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Citrix Systems has proclaimed the fact that it has nearly completed the deal with the purchase of virtualised management solutions provider offering VMLogix with a faster development of the Open Cloud Platform.

Klaus Oestermann, vice president and general manager for Networking and cloud product group at Citrix claimed: "It's about providing the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of cloud services designed around an open framework that encourages innovation and interoperability while optimizing cost."

The firm didn’t hint of any acquisition details pertaining to the deal, however it is been stated that the deal will be materialized by the third quarter of the current financial year. VMLogix, which is a 2004, company originates from Palo Alto, California. Citrix seemingly will be showcasing the latest features of its new OpenCloud platform and at the same time offers various tools that can have been clinched by VMLogix at the VMWorld Conference to be honored in the coming week. It is stated that both the firms have joined hands with VMLogix to offer building blocks for Citrix's XenServer virtualisation products.
