Microsoft aims to build a gigantic $500 million Generation 4 data center in the premises of Mecklenburg County, Virginia, US. Through a report laid by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, the latest service offering will aid Microsoft in having the most advanced data center ever constituted.

He further added that the firm supposedly has banked upon Virginia rather than opting for North Carolina and Texas, in an aid to develop the data center. It was further added that the data center will be aiding to generate 50 new job offerings and will comprise of latest technology and advanced cooling mechanics, which also will boast of energy cutting measures, cost effectiveness and at the same time will effectively aid in deploying things.

Through a statement released the Government stated: “The company's search process was long and competitive, and a great team of players came together to show Microsoft that Mecklenburg County was the right fit for its new version of a state-of-the-art data center.” It was further added that the Mecklenburg County will get a $2 million grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for offering a support for the project.
