Microsoft is planning to release Windows Phone 7 in a big manner and for the same it has issued nearly $500 million.
According to a report by Apple Insider, Microsoft has put in more than half a billion dollars to help its Windows Phone 7 to stand against Google's Android devices and Apple's iPhone in the smartphone arena.
Jonathan Goldberg, an analyst of telecommunication sector at Deutsche Bank, has stated that the IT biggie tries to cope up its late entry via offering a stupendous launch that tags along with the investment of more than $400 million on the launch of Windows Phone 7.
He further said, "This is make-or-break for them. They need to do whatever it takes to stay in the game. It's still wide open. They don't have to take share from Android or Apple, so long as they can attract enough consumers switching from feature phones."
At the Microsoft HQ, Goldberg was stated that the firm is aiming to put in at least $400 million in measure of marketing the phone, and the extra $100 million will be levied as engineering costs.
