Vodafone has claimed the latest over-the-air Android 2.2 update for HTC Desire owners through its network.
Vodafone has offered the release for with the codename Froyo for the current line of users who work on Android-based HTC Desire handsets.
The move will be followed across by carriers across the world merely in a month's duration.
The telecom service provider has also erased all the applications it had put on for installation in the start of the month. The company claimed that the installations will be added soon after the Android updated is installed and this measure falls in place to increase the speed of the Android-based smartphone.
As per Google, the latest offering of OS claims of increased performance and better speed. The actual statement of release stated: "2x-5x performance speed up for CPU-heavy code over Android 2.1 with Dalvik JIT."
