Ofcom’s latest survey has claimed that the UK citizens most of their waking hours either looking at their monitor screens, or TVs or mobiles.
An average Brit does seven hours a day texting, surfing the net, playing games, listening to the radio or watching TV programmes. After keeping aside eight hours for sleep one is left out with approximately 45% of the day.
Ofcom states that during the seven hour a day, folks invest in approximately nine hours of media intake with the aid of multi-tasking. For instance, watching TV – or half-watching TV- while, brooding over laptop devices or smartphones.

Ofcom Partner, Strategy & Market Developments, Peter Phillips, stated: “For the first time we can see just how central media and communications are to our lives. Increasingly, mobile devices – especially smartphones – are used for multi-media, but live evening TV still remains the main entertainment event of the day.”
