The threat to the US airlines plain in San Francisco on Thursday was termed unconvincing as stated by the police department and other law enforcement agencies of San Francisco.
According to police Sergeant Michael Rodriguez, nobody was arrested for threatening a hijacking of a plane in San Francisco. According to a source aware of the incident, two passengers were questioned regarding the incident, by authorities.
The threat call came before the plane has taken off from San Francisco.
Flight twenty four, which was supposed to go to New York, was taken to a remote location and every passenger of the flight underwent screening and interview as officers from local law enforcement branch thoroughly inspected the aircraft.
As per the statement of Randy Cohen, a passenger of the flight, other passengers were calm and composed but some of them showed nervousness as time passed by in the tarmac.
He further added saying that authorities removed a large garbage bag from the overhead trash bin at the back of the plane.
With the arrival of the police passengers, disembarked from the plane, six passengers at one go. According to one of the other passengers they have to wait for three hours when the plane was taken to remote place from the runway.
According to Bill Scott of the Alameda County of the police department of California they came to know of the incident after they received a call from a clerk working in a business facility of that locality.
Scott added saying that the clerk got a call where a suspicious male voice threatened to hijack the aircraft. The police, as soon as they came to know of the matter called the FBI. According to Scott he was not aware whether the threat to hijack the plane had been said over the phone but somehow they thought it was important enough to report it to the FBI.
