Virgin Media has pronounced that it will be sending warning letters to users whose systems have been damaged of malware attacks.
The firm has stated it would soon be releasing warning letters making use of a list compiled by Shadowserver Foundation, which claims a list that deals with IP addresses.
Virgin Media will help compare the addresses of the IP addresses with the ones who have sent the letters in accordance to the same manner. The firm has also said that users whose systems are a part of botnet network will be advised to download free anti-virus tools for weeding out malware from the system.
The firm has stated that the anti-malware campaign will be rolled out with the aid of Virgin Media who also be promoting the Digital Home Support service which gives support for PC assistance to "those who need a little bit more help".
Virgin Media spokesperson stated: "The letters are on headed paper, so they are obviously from us and they are the first step in the process and we'll be looking at email too."
