German Luxury carmaker, BMW has confirmed reports about a new coupe for 2012 featuring four doors after a number of reports appeared over the internet.

Klaus Draeger, BMW’s R&D chief expressed that the vehicle will be in line with other 6-series models in terms of pricing and technology. Auto experts are predicting that it can either be a new four door vehicle in the 6 series itself or may feature in the new 8 series.

Draeger also said that BMW’s design head Adrian van Hooydonk has already prepared a concept design and may feature at the upcoming 2010 Paris Motor Show. The company is expected to analyze public reaction to the concept design and then decide if to send it for production.

The concept is based on the Gran Coupe four-door shown at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show. Some suggest that the company might be studying shooting brake 6-Series model to increase the appeal of the vehicle.
