The Samsung Epic 4G will be coming from Sprint Nextel in the US on the 31st of August.
It is said that it will also be the very first model that comes from the Korean Chaebol to include 4G capabilities. The smartphone is priced at $250 after rebate and is obtainable on preorder from the Sprint Nexte with a 24-months agreement.
The phone according to the company is based on the Galaxy S series, comes with a slideout QWERTY keyboard and is the only Android phone from the Korean maker.
Features of the same include front-facing camera and four touch sensitive buttons that comes with Flash and runs on Android 2.1. It is thicker than other Android headsets due to the presence of physical keyboard but comes with a Super AMOLED screen which apparently is better than any of the present technologies.
Seth Weintraub from CNN said, "Its hardware is the best he's used although the software needs some upgrading. He reckons that it will be a great update for Blackberry users who yearn for better hardware but still want to use a keyboard."
A few experts claim that the phone will be pricier than iPhone 4 or EVO 4G.
