China's renowned Xinhua news agency will soon develop a mobile internet search engine in association with China Mobile.
China Mobile Communications Corporation and Xinhua have agreed for a pact that aids in development of the latest web search engine company, the Wall Street Journal stated. Zhou Xisheng, vice president of Xinhua said, “The venture is a part of broader efforts to safeguard its information security and push forward the robust, healthy and orderly development of China's new media industry".
Xinhua through a two-sentence statement claimed that both firms will join hands to offer a search-based international media company.
Currently China’s search market mainly comprises of its internal search engine Baidu that eats up 70 per cent of total market share, Google comes second with 24.2 per cent of the total market share.
